The opening ceremony coincided with a visit from CEO and Chairman of Rexel Group, Rudy Provoost, who was joined by Mitch Williams, Senior Vice President Asia-Pacific, and Frank Lee, CEO of Rexel China.

Following an introduction from Mitch Williams, who welcomed all in attendance, including managers from across Rexel China’s branches, Rudy Provoost took to the stand to congratulate employees on their progress over the last 2 years, highlighting China’s position as a key strategic country for Rexel. Rudy also made reference to Rexel’s Employee Value Proposition linking it with Rexel’s values and the importance of engaging each employee in the company vision. Frank Lee picked up where Rudy left off by explaining that the move signified that start of a more consolidated journey, bringing the banners closer together to join forces for success and find common opportunities to deliver the best customer experience.

A Q&A session followed as well as a small awards ceremony to recognize the exceptional contributions to the business of 4 employees, namely: Sun Hongxia, HZA Weifang Sales Manager, Wang Haiwen, HLX Sales Manager, Jia Chunxia, BZH Zhengzhou Office Manager, and Bernie Zhang, IT Infrastructure & Operation Manager.

Rudy, Mitch and Frank, were joined by many of the entities’ General Managers each with a pair of scissors and together they cut the ribbon to mark the official opening. Rexel China employees were also invited to enjoy a buffet of sweet and savory food and a glass of bubbly from the Champagne tower to mark the occasion.

The new headquarters, which offer a more spacious and collaborative work environment, have been fully equipped with a range of energy efficiency solutions supplied by Rexel China’s own banners. This includes LED lighting, presence sensors, automation and even PV panels, fitted to the roof. The building is also furnished with environmentally friendly furniture and has been decorated using environmentally friendly paint.

Frank Lee, CEO of Rexel China: "When we work together as a team, and with the support of Rexel Group, I’m confident that together we will build the future of Rexel ourselves."
